Sophie Derouin is a photo based artist located in Ottawa, Ontario. She is currently a student at the School of Photographic Arts: Ottawa, and graduated from her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Ottawa in 2023. In her work, she deconstructs and explores themes of home through personal environments and relationships, discovering what “home” means using lens based mediums as a tool of exploration. Using a range of analogue techniques such as different formats of film, cyanotype and gel transfers, she uses those photographs for books, photo-journals, and cyanotypes.
